Hernandez looking to continue recent success

SEATTLE (Ticker) -- Felix Hernandez will go for his fourth straight victory when the Seattle Mariners host the Baltimore Orioles in the second of a three-game series Tuesday.

The 21-year-old Hernandez (6-4, 3.66 ERA) has posted a 3-0 record with a 2.25 ERA and 27 strikeouts over his previous five starts.

The Venezuelan righthander gave up two runs and 10 hits with two walks and six strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings in a 3-2 triumph over the Detroit Tigers on Thursday.

He will be opposed by Jeremy Guthrie (4-3, 3.07), who is winless in his last four starts. The 28-year-old righthander was tagged for six runs - five earned - and nine hits with three walks and three strikeouts over just 3 2/3 innings in a 9-7 loss to the Chicago White Sox on Thursday.

The Mariners posted a 4-2 victory over the Orioles on Monday after Horacio Ramirez's successful return from the disabled list and Yuniel Betancourt's two-out, two-run double in the sixth inning.

The loss snapped Baltimore's three-game winning streak.
