Bonderman seeks 11th win of the season for Tigers

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) - Jeremy Bonderman and the Detroit Tigers will try to complete a three-game sweep of the Minnesota Twins on Thursday.

Bonderman (10-1, 3.50 ERA) hopes to remain undefeated on the road this season as continues to be one of the top young hurlers in baseball. The hard-throwing righthander is 5-0 away from home. The 24-year-old dominated the Twins in his last outing against them, striking out seven in eight scoreless frames at Comerica Park on July 1. But Bonderman is just 3-6 lifetime against the Twins.

On Wednesday, All-Star Magglio Ordonez delivered his 15th homer and drove in all three of Detroit's runs against 2006 Cy Young Award winner Johan Santana in a 3-2 triumph.

Minnesota sends Scott Baker (4-3, 5.43) to the hill. Baker is coming off an impressive outing in his last start, limiting the Oakland Athletics to two runs in six innings for a 6-2 win here one week ago.

The righthander is 2-2 with a 3.38 ERA in five lifetime starts against the Tigers, who are eight games ahead of the Twins in the American League Central.

Minnesota Gold Glove center fielder Torii Hunter is listed as day-to-day after hurting his hamstring running to first base in Wednesday's setback.
