Halladay, Blue Jays take on Mariners
Jul 22, 2007 - 12:59 PM Seattle (54-40) at Toronto (47-50) 1:07 pm EDTTORONTO (Ticker) - Roy Halladay aims for his fourth straight victory at home as the Toronto Blue Jays host the Seattle Mariners in the finale of a three-game set at Rogers Centre on Sunday afternoon.
On Saturday, Aaron Hill drove in the game's only run in the second inning as the Blue Jays posted a 1-0 victory over the Mariners in the middle game of this weekend series. Toronto has just two wins in its last six games.
The Jays will look to keep it going behind Halladay (10-4, 4.46 ERA), who is 6-1 with a 3.73 ERA at home this campaign. Despite his stellar pitching at Rogers Centre, the righthander 1-2 with a 5.32 ERA in his last four starts overall.
The Mariners will counter with Felix Hernandez (6-5 3.71), who is 0-2 with a 5.54 ERA in four road outings from May 30-July 2. However, in his last start away from home, the hard-throwing righthander tossed eight outstanding innings in a 4-0 win at Oakland on July 7.
He is 1-0 with a 1.93 ERA in two career starts against the Blue Jays - both in Toronto.
Seattle has won three of its last five.
