Final/12
Harang targets sixth straight winning decision
Jul 23, 2007 - 1:31 PM Milwaukee (55-43) at Cincinnati (41-58) 7:10 pm EDTCINCINNATI (Ticker) - After not missing his turn in the rotation despite a loss in the family, Aaron Harang takes the mound Monday when the Cincinnati Reds face the Milwaukee Brewers.
Harang (10-2, 3.63 ERA), who has been away from the time since his last start on Wednesday, is returning from a stint on the bereavement list after the death of his Grandfather. He will face the Brewers for the first time this season, hoping to keep alive an 11-start unbeaten streak.
Since dropping a decision to the Cleveland Indians on May 20, the righthander is 5-0 with a 2.68 ERA.
Harang is 4-3 with a 4.98 ERA in 11 lifetime starts against Milwaukee.
Harang was not involved in the decision in the Reds' 5-4, 15-inning marathon win over the Braves on Tuesday. He yielded just two runs despite allowing 10 hits over 7 2/3 innings.
On the opposite end is Chris Capuano (5-6, 4.96), who is trying to put an end to 10-game winless stretch. After beginning the season 5-0 with a 2.31 ERA, he has endured a 0-6 record with a 7.02 ERA since, due in large part to an offense that has given him only 15 runs of support in that time.
Included in that stretch was Wednesday's 5-2 loss against Arizona, in which Capuano allowed two runs and four hits over seven frames - his longest outing since June 2.
Heading on the road following a 6-4 homestand, the Brewers hold a 3 1/2-game lead over the Chicago Cubs in the National League Central Division.
The Reds are returning home following a 5-6 road trip.
