Owings, Diamondbacks aim for sweep of Marlins

PHOENIX (Ticker) -- Rookie Micah Owings takes the hill as the Arizona Diamondbacks look to complete a four-game sweep of the Florida Marlins on Thursday.

Owings (5-5, 4.90 ERA) is looking for his first win in six starts.

The 24-year-old righthander is 0-4 in his last six outings and has not won since beating Tampa Bay on June 20. On Saturday, Owings allowed two runs and four hits while throwing 95 pitches in a season low-tying four frames and did not receive a decision against the Chicago Cubs.

Owings looks to follow a solid outing by ace Brandon Webb, who worked seven outstanding innings in a 7-0 win on Wednesday. Byung-Hun Kim (5-5, 4.79), who was solid in his last start, takes the hill for Florida. The righthander allowed just one run and five hits in seven innings against Cincinnati on Saturday.

Hanley Ramirez sat out his third straight game after suffering a partially dislocated shoulder on Sunday. Ramirez leads the Marlins with a .336 batting average to go along with 16 homers and 46 RBI.
