Sabathia looks to seek revenge, chases win No. 14

CLEVELAND (Ticker) -- One day after seeing Johan Santana toss a 12-strikeout masterpiece against the Cleveland Indians, C.C. Sabathia will aim to return the favor.

Sabathia takes the mound as the Indians face the Minnesota Twins in the rubber game of a three-game series on Sunday.

Sabathia (13-5, 3.70 ERA) will look to become the first 14-game winner in the majors but will have competition as the Chicago Cubs' Carlos Zambrano will also be taking his shot at the mark as well Sunday.

Sabathia took a hard-luck 1-0 loss on Tuesday against the Boston Red Sox despite yielding just one run and five hits over seven frames, striking out seven.

In 22 lifetime starts against the Twins, the lefthander is 8-7 with a 3.59 ERA, three complete games and a shutout to his credit.

Matt Garza (1-2, 1.33) will look to recover after allowing his first three earned runs of the season in a 7-2 loss against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim last Sunday.

The righthander also permitted seven hits and three walks over 5 1/3 innings against the Angels. Garza lost his only other career start against the Indians, surrendering three runs over five innings last September.
