Halladay, Blue Jays look to rebound at home, face Rangers

TORONTO (Ticker) - The Toronto Blue Jays look to ace Roy Halladay to continue their solid play at home.

Halladay and the Blue Jays aim for their sixth straight home victory when they open a three-game series vs. the lowly Texas Rangers.

Toronto has won 10 of 12 at Rogers Centre to improve to 31-20 at home. They have also shut out the opposition in five of their last 10 here.

Halladay (11-5, 4.04 ERA) has been a big part of the excellent play at home. The 2003 Cy Young Award winner is 7-1 with a 3.27 ERA at Rogers Centre, and is unbeaten their in his last six outings.

The big righthander hurled his fourth complete game of the season last Saturday, but lost, 2-0, to the Chicago White Sox. Halladay is 5-5 in 16 appearances against Texas.

The Rangers counter with Millwood (7-9, 5.95) who has dropped three straight decisions on the road. In his last start, the righthander was tagged for six runs and nine hits in a season-low 2 2/3 innings in a 6-5 loss to Kansas City last Saturday.

Millwood pitched poorly in his only outing versus Toronto this year, surrendering five runs and eight hits in 5 2/3 innings of a 9-8, 10-inning victory on April 28. He is 1-3 with a 6.42 ERA in six career starts against the Blue Jays.

Texas (48-60) has the second-worst record in the American League, just ahead of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
