Yankees look to continue winning ways in Toronto

TORONTO (Ticker) - The New York Yankees look to continue their winning ways Monday when they hit the road for a three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays.

New York completed a three-game sweep Kansas City on Sunday with an 8-5 triumph. The Yankees scored 31 runs in the series.

Thanks to their offense, the Yankees have gone 17-7 since the All-Star break. They have scored seven or more runs in 13 of their last 15 games.

Hoping to benefit from the offense will be Andy Pettitte (7-7, 3.97 ERA). The lefthander is 2-1 in his last four starts, lasting at least six innings in each outing.

Pettitte is 15-8 with a 4.08 lifetime against Toronto. He was not involved in the decision against the Blue Jays on July 17 after allowing one run and seven hits over seven innings.

The Yankees are running into a red-hot team in the Blue Jays, who have won eight straight games at Rogers Centre.

Toronto also enters this contest looking to move three games over .500 for the first time this season.

Jesse Litsch (4-4, 3.47) takes the mound for the Blue Jays. The rookie righthander was impressive in July, going 3-2 with a 1.71 ERA.

In a relief appearance against the Yankees on May 30, Litsch allowed five runs while retiring just two batters.
