Sizemore, Indians hope to remain atop AL Central

CHICAGO (Ticker) -- Grady Sizemore will try to help the Cleveland Indians maintain their slim division lead when they visit the Chicago White Sox in the opener of a three-game series Tuesday.

The 25-year-old Sizemore, who has at least one hit in 13 of his last 14 games, is batting .280 with 19 homers and 62 RBI on the season. The leadoff hitter also has scored a team-high 83 runs and swiped 28 bases.

The Indians, who hold a one-half game advantage over the Detroit Tigers in the American League Central, will send Jake Westbrook (2-6, 5.40 ERA) to the mound. The 29-year-old Westbrook snapped a three-month winless spell after pitching six scoreless innings in a 5-0 triumph over the Texas Rangers on Thursday.

The White Sox will counter with rookie John Danks (6-8, 5.06), who is winless in his previous three starts. The 22-year-old lefthander lasted just four innings, giving up six runs - five earned - and six hits with two walks in an 8-1 loss to the New York Yankees on Wednesday.

Danks, who has allowed home runs in 16 of his 20 starts this season, will hope to lead Chicago to its fifth consecutive win.
