Tigers seek third straight win vs. Devil Rays

DETROIT (Ticker) - The Detroit Tigers look for their third straight win Wednesday when they continue a four-game series against the lowly Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

Detroit has won consecutive games for the first time since a four-game run from July 15-19. The Tigers are one-half game behind Cleveland (64-49) in the American League Central Division.

Rookie Ryan Raburn collected two RBI and scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth as Detroit posted a 9-6 win on Tuesday. The Tigers won despite squandering a 6-1 lead.

Detroit's Chad Durbin (7-3, 4.36 ERA) gets the call to the hill in place of Andrew Miller, who was put the 15-day disabled list with a hamstring injury.

The 29-year-old Durbin is making his first start since defeating the Washington Nationals on June 19, when he limited them to one run and five runs in six innings.

Tampa Bay counters with James Shields (8-7, 4.45), who allowed three runs and six hits in 6 2/3 frames of a 3-1 setback to the Baltimore Orioles in his last outing. The righthander is just 2-7 since winning his first six decisions.

On May 30, Shields pitched a complete game in a 5-3 win over Detroit.
