Blue Jays look to clinch series against the Royals

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (Ticker) - The Toronto Blue Jays look to come away with a series victory on Monday when they take on the Kansas City Royals in the finale of the four-game seires.

Thanks to strong performances from Shaun Marcum on Friday and A.J. Burnett on Sunday, the Blue Jays have won two of the first three games in the series.

The Blue Jays now turn to rookie Jesse Litsch (4-4, 3.64 ERA), who is has pitched to an 0.68 ERA in winning his last two starts away from home. The righthander is 2-2 with a 2.51 ERA overall on the road.

Matt Stairs has been carrying the offense for the Blue Jays. He is batting .406 (13-for-32) during a nine-game hitting streak.

Odalis Perez (6-11, 5.87) starts for the Royals. The lefthander was pulled from his last start against Minnesota after three innings due to leg soreness.

Perez is 0-1 against the Blue Jays this season. He lasted 1 1/3 innings, giving up four runs and seven hits in a 9-1 setback on April 9.
