Orioles open 10-game homestand against Rangers
Aug 20, 2007 - 2:28 PM Texas (54-69) at Baltimore (57-65) 7:05 pm EDTBALTIMORE (Ticker) -- The Baltimore Orioles will open a 10-game homestand, their longest of the season, on Monday when they host the Texas Rangers for a three-game series.
The Orioles are coming off a six-game road trip in which they went 3-3 against the New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays.
Daniel Cabrera (9-12, 4.93 ERA) will be looking for back-to-back wins for just the second time this season when he takes the mound for Baltimore. Cabrera last won consecutive games from May 5-10. The righthander allowed just two hits and worked around six walks over 6 2/3 innings in a 12-0 victory over the Yankees on Tuesday.
Cabrera is 1-5 with a 5.73 ERA in seven starts against the Rangers during his career.
Vincente Padilla (3-8, 6.30) will make his second start for Texas since coming off the disabled list on Wednesday. After missing 47 days with a right triceps irritation, Padilla allowed just one unearned run and four hits over five innings, but did not factor into a 4-3 win over the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday.
For his career, Padilla is 2-2 in four appearances - three starts - with a 4.34 ERA against the Orioles.
