Diamondbacks aim to rebound vs. Brewers

PHOENIX (Ticker) - The Arizona Diamondbacks will try to avoid a repeat performance against the Milwaukee Brewers in the second game of a three-game series on Tuesday.

In Monday's opener, rookie starter Yovani Gallardo and All-Star Prince Fielder each homered as Milwaukee won for the third time in its last eight road games, 9-0.

The Brewers are tied with the Chicago Cubs (63-60) for first place in the National League Central standings.

Arizona's Livan Hernandez (9-7, 4.86 ERA) takes the ball with a personal three-game winning streak in hand. Last time out, the righthander battled through seven innings for a 5-4 win at Florida.

On July 19, Hernandez was pounded for six runs and eight hits over 5 1/3 frames in a loss at Miller Park. In 17 career games in the series, the 32-year-old is 7-4 all-time vs. Milwaukee.

David Bush (9-9, 5.01) goes in search of his first win July 31 for the Brewers. The 6-2 righthander gave up three runs through seven innings to fall to St. Louis on Thursday.

Bush is undefeated with a 3.72 ERA over three career outings against Arizona, which is 3 1/5 games ahead of the San Diego Padres in the NL West.
