Escobar looks to help Angels split series

Former Angel Troy Glaus had three hits and homered and Shaun Marcum threw six strong frames for the Blue Jays in Saturday's 9-2 victory.
Kelvim Escobar (14-6, 2.85 ERA) takes the ball for the Angels with the hopes of winning his fourth straight decision. Last time out, the righthander fanned seven batters in six frames to beat the New York Yankees on Tuesday.
A former Blue Jay, Escobar allowed one run over seven innings while striking out nine to shut down his former club on August 16. He is 3-3 with a 1.98 ERA in six career meetings against Toronto.
Dustin McGowan (8-7, 4.19) seeks his first win in four outings after giving up three runs in five frames in a loss to Oakland on Tuesday.
In his lone career start against the Angeles, the righthander allowed four runs through six innings in a setback last Thursday at the Rogers Centre.
