Twins aim for third straight win over Royals

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) - The Minnesota Twins are getting healthy against the Kansas City Royals.

Boof Bonser takes the hill as the Twins look to win their third straight in the finale of a four-game series with the Royals on Sunday.

Minnesota entered the series having lost four straight, but has outscored the Royals, 11-4, in winning two straight. Prior to this series, the Twins had scored a total of 15 runs during their losing streak.

Mike Redmond capped a four-run fifth inning with a two-run double in a 6-4 win on Saturday.

Bonser (6-11, 4.72 ERA), who is 1-9 in his last 14 starts, would like to see the Twins offense continue to roll. The righthander allowed three runs and five hits in seven innings of a 6-5 loss to Cleveland on Tuesday.

Bonser will be opposed by Brian Bannister (11-7, 3.27), who is looking for a season high-tying fourth straight win. Bannister, who has won six of his last seven starts, yielded two runs and a season-high 11 hits in six innings of a 6-3 win over Detroit on Wednesday.
