Brewers look to continue success against NL Central
Sep 17, 2007 - 1:49 PM Milwaukee (76-72) at Houston (65-84) 8:05 pm EDTHOUSTON (Ticker) -- The surging Milwaukee Brewers look to continue their winning ways on Monday when they begin a three-game set against the Houston Astros on Monday.
The Brewers have won 10 of their last 15 games - all against National League Central rivals - but have been unable to get ahead of the division-leading Chicago Cubs (78-72), who are one game ahead of the Brewers in the standings.
To maintain the positive momentum, Milwaukee will start rookie Yovani Gallardo (8-4, 3.99 ERA), who will look to win his fourth straight start. Over his last three turns, he 3-0 with a 0.90 ERA.
The righthander has faced the Astros only one other time, tossing seven scoreless frames in a 14-2 win on September 5.
His opponent on the mound will be Matt Albers (4-8, 5.79), who took the loss in that same game. He surrendered seven runs and six hits over three innings - the first of two consecutive losses for the righthander.
Albers is 0-1 lifetime with an 8.10 ERA in three career games - two starts - against the Brewers.
