Brewers look to win fifth straight

HOUSTON (Ticker) - The Milwaukee Brewers will look to win their fifth straight game and improve their position in the National League Central when they play the final game of a three-game series with the Houston Astros on Wednesday.

The Brewers got four home runs on Tuesday, including the 31st of the season for outstanding rookie Ryan Braun, in a 9-1 victory.

With the latest win, Milwaukee pulled into a tie with the Chicago Cubs (79-73) in the NL Central.

The Brewers send Dave Bush (11-10, 5.34 ERA) to the mound. The righthander has given up 12 runs in his last two outings and is just 4-4 with a 6.49 ERA away from Miller Park.

The Astros will counter with rookie Juan Gutierrez (1-1, 6.10), who is making his second career start.

The 24-year-old righthander made his first start back on August 23, when he was knocked around for six runs and 11 hits in five innings of a 7-6 loss to the Washington Nationals.

Since then, Gutierrez has tossed 3 1/3 scoreless innings in two relief appearances, recording his first major league win on Saturday when he went two frames against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Brewers have won 13 of 17 meetings with the Astros this season.
