Mariners seek four straight win
Sep 29, 2007 - 1:37 PM Texas (75-85) at Seattle (86-74) 10:05 pm EDTSEATTLE (Ticker) -- The Seattle Mariners will aim to push their winning streak to four games in a row when they host the Texas Rangers in the second game of a weekend series on Saturday.
In Friday's series opener, rookie Jeff Clement delivered the game-winning two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning as Seattle rallied for a 6-4 victory.
Miguel Batista (15-11, 4.43 ERA) gets the call for the Mariners with the hopes of earning his third win in a row. In his last start, the righthander yielded one run in 5 1/3 innings against Anaheim last Saturday.
Batista is 3-3 with a 5.01 ERA over 10 career trips to the hill against Seattle.
Texas will counter with Kevin Millwood (10-13, 5.16 ERA), who tossed seven strong frames in last Sunday's 3-0 triumph over the Baltimore Orioles.
On August 24, the 6-4 righthander gave up four runs through 8 2/3 innings in a setback to Seattle, which is 5-7 in 14 outings against Millwood.
