Bell manages last game for Royals

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (Ticker) - The Kansas City Royals would like to send manager Buddy Bell out on a positive note when they face the Cleveland Indians in their regular-season finale on Sunday.

Bell announced earlier this season that he will resign after nearly three campaign to become the senior advisor to general manager Dayton Moore.

Rookie Luke Hochevar (0-0, 0.93 ERA) goes to the hill for the Royals, who snapped their three-game slide with Saturday's 4-3 win. The righthander is making his first career start after three appearance out of the bullpen.

The No. 1 overall selection in 2006, the 24-year-old Hochevar has allowed just one run in 9 2/3 innings since being called up earlier this month.

Cleveland's Aaron Laffey (3-2, 4.87) aims for his fourth road win of the season. In his last outing, the lefthander yielded one run and four hits in 5 2/3 frames in a no-decision at Seattle in Tuesday.

The Indians will sit the majority of its starters in preparation of their ALDS matchup against the New York Yankees on Thursday at Jacobs Field.
