Angels starter Santiago ejected for gesturing to umpire
May 21, 2016 - 3:16 AM ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) Angels starter Hector Santiago has been ejected after gesturing to the home plate umpire in the third inning against Baltimore.Santiago appeared irate about how umpire John Tumpane was calling the strike zone in the series opener Friday night. The Angels trailed the AL East-leading Orioles 4-1 after the left-hander gave up three home runs including consecutive ones to start the game.
It was Santiago's second career ejection and first this season.
Angels manager Mike Scioscia argued with Tumpane after Santiago retreated to the dugout. He was replaced by Mike Morin.
