MLB Note - Houston Astros Morton, Charlie
Jul 26, 2017 - 10:34 AM RHP Charlie Morton had his best start of the season on Tuesday night, holding the Phillies scoreless in seven innings of a 5-0 win. Morton (8-4) threw 71 of his 105 pitches for strikes, putting together his most complete start of the season with nine strikeouts against just three hits and one walk, lowering his ERA from 4.18 to 3.83. It came against a club he pitched four games for last April before a torn hamstring ended his 2016 season. "I thought he cleaned up his delivery and just aggressiveness inside the strike zone," Astros manager A.J. Hinch said. "He had some good defensive plays behind him early, which gave him a little bit of a cushion, and then obviously the big inning for us, it gave him even more."No one has shouted yet.
