MLB Note - Atlanta Braves Blair, Aaron
Jul 27, 2017 - 1:56 AM RHP Aaron Blair was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett to make his first 2017 start in the majors, and against his former organization -- the Arizona Diamondbacks, who drafted him No. 36 overall in 2013. His first start in Chase Field -- the ballpark where he once figured to spend his career -- didn't last long as he gave up Ketel Marte's two-run, inside-the-park homer and Daniel Descalso's two-run triple in a four-run Arizona third inning. Blair gave up five hits and five runs and walked five in three innings, his first start in the majors since Oct. 1. "I had the slider and the curveball for strikes when I needed it, but it all comes down to making pitches," Blair said. "Five free passes in the first three innings, that's not going to help you at all." Blair probably won't get another start soon as RHP Lucas Sims -- 7-4 with a 3.75 ERA at Triple-A Gwinnett -- could be called up to start next week, possibly against the Dodgers. No one has shouted yet.
