MLB Note - San Diego Padres McGrath, Kyle
Jul 28, 2017 - 8:09 AM LHP Kyle McGrath was promoted from Double-A San Antonio to give the Padres an eight-man bullpen that includes four left-handers. McGrath was 1-1 with a 2.70 ERA in 19 appearances with the Missions, where he had 27 strikeouts in 23 1/3 innings. Padres manager Andy Green said McGrath, who turns 25 on July 31, can be used as a situational left-hander as well as a multiple-inning reliever. Green said he expects the Padres will go with an eight-man bullpen and a four-man bench for much of the remainder of the 2017 season.No one has shouted yet.
