MLB Note - San Diego Padres Solarte, Yangervis
Jul 28, 2017 - 8:09 AM INF Yangervis Solarte began what could be a short but interesting rehab assignment with Triple-A El Paso on Thursday night. The switch-hitting Solarte, who has been sidelined since June 21 with a strained left oblique muscle, is expected to play second Thursday night. But the plan is for him to start at shortstop Friday night. Solarte has played in three games at short as a Padre and it is far from his best position. Solarte was hitting .268 with 10 doubles, 10 homers and 40 RBIs in 70 games when he was injured. No one has shouted yet.
