MLB Note - Houston Astros Peacock, Brad
Jul 29, 2017 - 8:19 AM RHP Brad Peacock, who had little trouble holding down Detroit when he made his first start of the season May 22, has been sent to the bullpen for the time being with the return of LHP Dallas Keuchel to the roster. "He's going to be in the bullpen for the weekend. I've met with him and let him know that we haven't given up the notion that he might start," manager A.J. Hinch said. Peacock would have remained in the rotation had Keuchel not returned, and he pitched in relief when the left-hander's start was cut after three innings and 79 pitches. He won't be able to pitch again until Monday at the earliest. "He pitched on three day's rest," Hinch said. "He threw minimal pitches in Philly with the rain and came through with an extended relief outing. He had plenty left at the end. It's just nice to have him stretched out. He held the game there obviously." Peacock improved to 9-1 with the win. He pitched four innings and gave up two runs on three hits.No one has shouted yet.
