MLB Note - Kansas City Royals Junis, Jake
Aug 15, 2017 - 9:11 AM RHP Jake Junis (5-2) was called up Monday from Triple-A Omaha and allowed two runs on four hits over six innings in a 6-2 victory at Oakland, his third straight win, including one in relief. He struck out two, walked none and hit two batters. For the second straight time, he got a big-league victory while pitching to C Jake Gallagher, his teammate for five minor-league seasons, who hit a grand slam in the sixth inning. "He's a competitor," Gallagher said of Junis. "I know after we came in after [the bottom of the sixth] where he gave up that run, he said he was so happy for me he had to lock it in. That's just the kind of relationship we have. He's a competitor and did a heck of a job tonight. He had all four pitches working and came out with a win."No one has shouted yet.
