MLB Note - Arizona Diamondbacks Greinke, Zack

Aug 15, 2017 - 9:11 AM RHP Zack Greinke isn't at a loss to explain why he's so effective this season following a Diamondbacks loss. He won for the eighth time in a row following a Diamondbacks loss, beating Houston 2-0 Monday by throwing 6 2-3 scoreless innings. "I felt like I executed pretty good. I think I made a lot of good pitches," Greinke said. "I have four pitches that have been good all year instead of two, and I can play with them." Greinke hasn't lost following an Arizona loss since April 24 and is 8-1 with a 2.27 ERA overall this season after the Diamondbacks lose. He's also been exceptional at Chase Field, where he is 11-1 this season. "He executes his game plan about as efficiently as anybody in the league," Astros manager A.J. Hinch said. "He pitches with multiple pitches to multiple areas of the zone, he got the benefit (Monday) of a liberal strike zone and he got chases when he needed chases. He doesn't ever concede anything."
