MLB Note - Colorado Rockies Bettis, Chad
Aug 15, 2017 - 9:11 AM RHP Chad Bettis was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque to make his 2017 debut and start against the Braves and held them scoreless for seven innings on six hits with no walks and two strikeouts. Bettis underwent surgery for testicular cancer in November and in March had to begin nine weeks of chemotherapy. He rejoined the Rockies on June 6 and on July 13 began a rehab assignment, going 0-3 with a 4.82 ERA in six games (five starts) at Double- and Triple-A. Bettis made his first appearance in the majors since Sept. 30. It was the fourth time in his career that Bettis pitched seven or more scoreless innings and the second time at home. He threw a complete-game shutout at Coors Field against San Francisco on Sept. 5, 2016.No one has shouted yet.
