MLB Note - Kansas City Royals Perez, Salvador
Aug 15, 2017 - 9:12 AM C Salvador Perez (right intercostal strain) caught a bullpen and took 10 to 15 swings off a batting tee at 30 to 40 percent effort on Monday as he continued his recovery. Perez has been on the disabled list since Aug. 6, retroactive to Aug. 5. "I feel pretty good," Perez said of swinging the bat. "I don't feel anything -- any pain, or anything. After two weeks, to hit again and not feel anything, it's a pretty good sign. I think I can catch right now. The worst part of it is hitting. Se we're just going to wait and see how my muscle's going to respond to hitting." Perez is eligible to come off the DL on Tuesday, but he won't be activated during the Royals' three-game series in Oakland, which ends Wednesday. "I don't want to get hurt again. If I get hurt again, I'm done for the season. I've got one opportunity to finish this season, so I have to be smart."No one has shouted yet.
