MLB Note - Toronto Blue Jays Anderson, Brett

Aug 16, 2017 - 11:08 AM LHP Brett Anderson was signed to a minor league contract by Toronto and will report to Triple-A Buffalo later this week. The 29-year-old made six starts for the Chicago Cubs this season but had an 8.18 ERA. He went on the 60-day disabled list with a back injury and was designated for assignment before being released on Aug. 1. "We'll see where he's at," manager John Gibbons said. "We've always liked him here, and that goes back a few years. He had always been a good pitcher but he couldn't stay healthy. We signed him, we'll send him to Buffalo ... and see how he looks." He has a 3.99 ERA in 133 games, 121 of them starts over nine seasons.
