MLB Note - New York Mets Familia, Jeurys

Aug 16, 2017 - 11:08 AM RHP Jeurys Familia (surgery to remove a blood clot) was slated to start a rehab assignment Tuesday but will begin it Wednesday by throwing an inning in the Gulf Coast League. He has been on the DL since May 12 and will need a few outings before returning. Familia missed the first 15 games of the season because he was suspended for violating baseball's domestic violence policy in the offseason. He pitched in only 11 games before landing on the DL.
