MLB Note - Oakland Athletics Hatcher, Chris
Aug 16, 2017 - 11:09 AM RHP Chris Hatcher was acquired by the A's from the Dodgers on Tuesday in exchange for $500,000 in international slot money. Hatcher is 8-14 with a 4.72 ERA in 193 career major league relief appearances. He has 216 strikeouts and 72 walks in 206 innings in parts of seven seasons with the Dodgers and the Marlins, who traded him to L.A. on Dec. 11, 2014, as part of a seven-player trade that sent INF Dee Gordon to Miami. Hatcher has missed much of this season with thoracic inflammation. He went 0-1 with a 4.66 ERA and 43 strikeouts over 36 2/3 innings in 26 relief appearances for the Dodgers this year but was placed on the disabled list on June 23. Hatcher pitched five games on a rehab assignment from June 29-Aug. 12. He was reinstated from the DL on Sunday. Hatcher reportedly is expected to join the A's on Wednesday.No one has shouted yet.
