MLB Note - Detroit Tigers Stumpf, Daniel
Aug 16, 2017 - 11:09 AM LHP Daniel Stumpf did not make his manager very happy when he lost track of Rougned Odor at third base during the Tigers' 10-4 loss to Texas on Tuesday. Odor came charging down the third base line in what would have been a successful steal of home had Stumpf not been called for a balk. It was a crucial part of the game. The Tigers had just cut their deficit to two. "All of a sudden it's a three-run game and we don't have a lot of outs to play with," manager Brad Ausmus said. "People don't try to steal home very much, but you can't ever not be aware of the baserunners. ... Stumpf forgot about the baserunner, and it cost us." Said Stumpf: "I got lazy and came up too slow."No one has shouted yet.
