MLB Note - New York Mets Lugo, Seth

Aug 16, 2017 - 11:08 AM RHP Seth Lugo was scheduled to pitch Wednesday against the Yankees but was placed on the disabled list Tuesday with right shoulder impingement. Lugo last pitched Friday in Philadelphia and the move is retroactive to Saturday. Lugo is 5-3 with a 4.85 ERA in 12 appearances (11 starts). He took no-hitters in the fifth inning in his last two starts at home on July 20 against the St. Louis Cardinals and Aug. 5 against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Lugo began this season on the DL when he elected to rehab a partially torn ligament in his elbow instead of undergoing season-ending Tommy John surgery. Manager Terry Collins wasn't sure of the extent of injury, but seemed concerned the shoulder issue might be connected to the elbow problem. "I know that if it's not the elbow, that it always concerns me that you're changing your delivery to compensate because you've got a bad elbow and all of a sudden it's your shoulder," Collins said. "I know one thing: I don't like to hear shoulder problems. Those scare you more than anything."
