MLB Note - New York Mets Flores, Wilmer

Aug 17, 2017 - 8:56 AM INF Wilmer Flores (left rib cage) was a late scratch from the starting lineup Wednesday night. Flores was penciled in to play third base and bat cleanup but was replaced following batting practice. Fellow INF Jose Reyes was also scratched with a left rib cage injury, which forced the Mets to start Asdrubal Cabrera at second base and give C Travis d'Arnaud his first professional start and appearance at third base. Mets manager Terry Collins said the club likely would recall at least one and maybe two infielders Thursday to safeguard itslef against an extended absence for Flores and/or Reyes. Flores is batting .281 with 14 homers and 38 RBIs in 94 games this season.
