Twins recall RHP Slegers to pitch nightcap vs. Indians
Aug 17, 2017 - 4:43 PM The Minnesota Twins recalled right-hander Aaron Slegers from Triple-A Rochester to start the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against the visiting Cleveland Indians.Slegers, who will make his major league debut, will serve as the 26th man for the doubleheader.
The 24-year-old posted a 13-4 mark with a 3.18 ERA in 21 Triple-A starts this season. Slegers collected 97 strikeouts in 130 1/3 innings for Rochester.
Thursday's scheduled starter Jose Berrios is being pushed back to pitch Saturday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
