Dodgers' Puig to fans: 'See you in the World Series'
Aug 17, 2017 - 3:56 PM The Los Angeles Dodgers are brimming with confidence, and with good reason considering they are a whopping 51 games over .500 and own a sterling 51-14 mark at home.So perhaps it should come as no surprise that Yasiel Puig is focused on the big prize after he hit a two-run, walk-off double as the Dodgers (85-34) recorded a 5-4 comeback victory over the Chicago White Sox in front of a sellout home crowd Wednesday.
Elated during an on-field interview, Puig told the fans of his expectations.
"(We'll) see you in the World Series, guys," the 26-year-old Cuban said.
While Puig's comment is boastful, team co-owner Magic Johnson went a step further last month when he said the following:
"The Dodgers are going to win the World Series this year. This is our year," Johnson said.
The Dodgers last won the World Series in 1988, upsetting the Oakland Athletics in five games.
No one has shouted yet.
