MLB Note - Tampa Bay Rays Smith, Mallex
Aug 19, 2017 - 8:31 AM OF Mallex Smith was optioned to Triple-A Durham to make room for Kevin Kiermaier's return from the disabled list. Smith was hitting .279 on the season with a team-high 16 steals, but is likely to stay in the minors until rosters expand Sept. 1.No one has shouted yet.
