Aug 19, 2017 - 8:31 AM LHP CC Sabathia comes off the disabled list to pitch the second game of the series Saturday night. Sabathia, who hasn't won since July 21, has beaten Boston twice this season, not allowing a run while pitching 14 innings, said Friday he thought about quitting when his knee acted up in Toronto Aug. 8. "Because it hurt," he said. "It's just not worth it." He added, "I could go out there and I could throw four innings and hurt and pitch -- like I keep saying, I've pitched for a long time now. I'm not doing this for the money or anything like that. I'm doing this for fun and to try to win a championship and if I can't have fun and help this team win, then there's no reason for me to be out there."
