MLB Note - Boston Red Sox Devers, Rafael
Aug 19, 2017 - 8:31 AM 3B Rafael Devers, who hit a home run off a 102.8-mph Aroldis Chapman fastball to tie last Sunday night's game in the ninth inning, hit a two-run homer to the opposite field in his first at-bat Friday. He went 2-for-4 and led a double steal against Aroldis Chapman in the eighth inning. He joined Babe Ruth, Ted Williams and Ken Griffey Jr. (twice) as the only players to homer in consecutive games against the Yankees before the age of 21. Six of his seven homers have gone to left or centerfield -- and the only other major leaguer ever to hit seven homers in his first 19 games was Ron Swoboda of the Mets in 1965.No one has shouted yet.
