MLB Note - Los Angeles Dodgers Granderson, Curtis

Aug 20, 2017 - 8:19 AM LF Curtis Granderson found out late Friday night he'd been traded from the New York Mets to the Dodgers and made it to Detroit on Saturday so he could play left field and bat sixth for Los Angeles in a late-afternoon game. Granderson began the season hitting .128 for more than a month but since May 10 was batting .273 with 17 home runs. Manager Dave Roberts envisions Granderson playing a corner outfield spot but not leading off at the moment. "Curtis has hit in the leadoff spot a lot of his career but in the middle as well. And in talking to him, he didn't care where he hit in the order. I want to see how this thing plays out, having him in the lineup, how he adjusts with our ballclub and things like that to see how our lineup is constructed." Granderson showed his professionalism by reaching second in the seventh on a dropped pop up (for an error) and he scored the winning run on a line single to right by 1B Adrian Gonzalez. He also got a polite standing ovation from Detroit fans, having begun his pro career with the Tigers.
