MLB Note - Tampa Bay Rays Puello, Cesar
Aug 20, 2017 - 8:20 AM OF Cesar Puello was claimed off waivers by the Los Angels Angels. Puello, 26, is a career minor-leaguer who has played only one major-league game, this month with the Angels. "It's a guy that's got a track record of hitting," manager Kevin Cash said after the 7-6 loss to the Mariners. "(He's an) outfielder, speed guy. Can steal some bases, but we like his bat and think that he can come in and complement our lineup well." Puello, a right-handed hitter, is out of options. He split this season at Triple A between the Rangers and Angels, hitting a combined .327 with 13 home runs, 61 RBIs and a .903 on-base plus slugging percentage. No one has shouted yet.
