MLB Note - New York Yankees Montgomery, Jordan
Aug 20, 2017 - 8:20 AM LHP Jordan Montgomery, who started Friday night's game as his innings continue to be watched, was sent to Triple-A Scranton-Wilkes Barre to make room for CC Sabathia Saturday. He will likely stay in Triple-A until the Sept. 1 callups. "We've tried to limit some of the innings on him," manager Joe Girardi said. "We've tried to do it a couple of times, and because of the injuries, it hasn't worked. He's really pitched pretty well, but we're trying to reduce it. He's near 130. He was at 150 last year. He could have eight more starts. The innings are so much more stressful up here. Yes, it's about today, but it's also about tomorrow and the next month and the next year as well."No one has shouted yet.
