MLB Note - New York Mets deGrom, Jacob

Aug 21, 2017 - 7:06 AM RHP Jacob deGrom allowed five runs and sustained the loss for the second straight start Sunday, when the Mets fell to the Miami Marlins. 6-4. DeGrom was charged with the five runs on 10 hits and no walks while striking out eight over 6 1/3 innings. He allowed two runs through the first six innings but gave up hits to three of the four batters he faced in the seventh, including a three-run homer to his final batter, Giancarlo Stanton. DeGrom also gave up five runs over 7 1/3 innings last Tuesday, when the Mets lost to the New York Yankees, 5-4. This is the roughest two-start stretch for deGrom since he gave up 15 runs over eight innings May 31-June 6. He followed that up by going 9-2 with a 1.82 ERA in his next 11 starts. DeGrom is 13-7 with a 3.49 ERA in 25 starts with 191 strikeouts over 165 innings.
