MLB Note - Arizona Diamondbacks Ahmed, Nick

Aug 22, 2017 - 6:55 AM SS Nick Ahmed (broken right hand) played in his second rehab game Monday, when he went 0-for-3 while playing five innings at shortstop for the rookie-level Arizona League Diamondbacks. Ahmed, who is hitless in five at-bats for the Arizona League affiliate, is ineligible to return from the 60-day disabled list until Saturday and will likely remain on rehab until rosters expand Sept. 1. He was injured when hit by a pitch on June 27, placed on the 10-day disabled list the next day and shifted to the 60-day disabled list on July 31. Ahmed is batting .251 with six homers and 21 RBIs in 53 games this season.
