MLB Note - Texas Rangers Hamels, Cole
Aug 22, 2017 - 6:55 AM LHP Cole Hamels gave up two runs on three hits and two walks in seven innings, improving to 9-1 on the season with the win over the Angels. Hamels gave up an RBI single to Martin Maldonado in the second inning and an RBI groundout to C.J. Cron in the sixth, but nothing more. Hamels made 92 pitches to get through seven innings and said he could have pitched into the eight, but Rangers manager Jeff Banister said he didn't want Hamels to face the top of the Angels' lineup for a fourth time. "We felt like getting a fresh arm out there with (Jose) Leclerc, who we feel when he's throwing strikes is a very effective pitcher. He's faced those hitters before and had success."No one has shouted yet.
