MLB Note - Arizona Diamondbacks Corbin, Patrick

Aug 22, 2017 - 6:55 AM LHP Patrick Corbin will look to win his third straight start Tuesday night, when he takes the mound for the Diamondbacks in the second game of a four-game series against the New York Mets at Citi Field. Corbin earned the victory last Thursday, when he fell one out shy of his first career shutout after allowing four hits and one walk while striking out seven over a season-high 8 2/3 innings as the Diamondbacks beat the Houston Astros, 4-0. It was the second straight scoreless start for Corbin, who blanked the Chicago Cubs over 6 2/3 innings in a win on Aug. 12. The back-to-back strong outings lowered Corbin's ERA from 4.76 to 4.25, the lowest it has been since mid-May. Corbin is 0-3 with a 6.04 ERA in six career appearances (five starts) against the Mets.
