MLB Note - Chicago Cubs Lester, Jon

Aug 24, 2017 - 8:03 AM LHP Jon Lester threw on the side Wednesday at Great American Ball Park and the reports from pitching coach Chris Bosio to manager Joe Maddon were positive. The next step is a bullpen session scheduled for Friday in Philadelphia. Maddon said a simulated game likely would follow, but he didn't want to look ahead. Lester has been on the disabled list since Aug. 18 with lat tightness and shoulder fatigue. He's 8-7 with a 4.87 ERA in 26 starts and has thrown 148 1/3 innings this season.
