MLB Note - Detroit Tigers Castellanos, Nick
Sep 18, 2017 - 9:24 AM RF Nicholas Castellanos drove in four runs Sunday with an RBI single plus a three-run home run, giving him 92 RBIs and a legitimate chance to reach 100. But the thing some were wondering about was why the right field newcomer was still in the game with a no-hitter on the line. SS Tim Anderson's ball was out of his speeding reach, falling for a double that spoiled the no-hit bid of LHP Matthew Boyd. "This is asinine," manager Brad Ausmus bristled when asked why he didn't replace Castellanos. "The guy had a great day. No one catches that ball. It's a bad question. Nobody catches that ball. Nick's been out there all day. Should I have taken him out earlier? We got a 12-run lead. I'm not defending for Nick there."No one has shouted yet.
