MLB Note - San Diego Padres Myers, Wil

Sep 18, 2017 - 9:25 AM 1B Wil Myers went 0-for-2 with two walks Sunday after fouling a ball off the back of his right knee Saturday night and leaving the game with a contusion. Manager Andy Green said, "He came in and said he felt really good today. We were going to sit him if he didn't feel really good. Trainers gave him a thumbs up, he gave himself a thumbs up. He definitely wants to play. I don't expect any lingering effects from it. It didn't hit him on the knee, it hit him on the quad, and he's moving fairly well." Myers, who has hit a career-high-tying 28 homers, stole his 20th base in the first inning. He joined Ryan Klesko as the second player in Padres history to register multiple seasons with at least 25 homers and 20 stolen bases.
